RA Migration

Immigrate to Canada from Syria

Canada has become home to one of the fastest-growing Syrian communities in the world, and RA Migration helps Syrians inside Syria and across the region, in Lebanon, Jordan, Türkiye, Egypt and the Gulf, find a realistic, regulated path to Canada.

Why people move from Syria to Canada

Since 2015 Canada has resettled tens of thousands of Syrian refugees and welcomed many more Syrians through family sponsorship, study and economic programs. Syrian communities have grown quickly in Toronto, Mississauga, London, Hamilton, Ottawa, Montréal and Laval, supported by settlement agencies, Arabic-speaking services and family networks.

Most Syrian files we see today are not resettlement files. They are family reunification, skilled workers applying from the Gulf or Türkiye, students, and Syrians already in Canada moving from temporary status to permanent residence. Each of these paths has different rules, and choosing the wrong one costs years. That is exactly the decision we help you make correctly at the start.

By the numbers

Your immigration pathways from Syria

These are the routes applicants from Syria use most, and the ones we assess first in a consultation.

Family sponsorship

The most requested Syrian service: sponsoring spouses, children, parents and grandparents. We build strong relationship and identity evidence even when original documents are hard to obtain.

Express Entry

Syrian professionals working in the Gulf, Türkiye or elsewhere can qualify through Express Entry. Work experience counts wherever it was earned, and refugee status does not block an economic application.

Study in Canada

A study permit, then a Post-Graduation Work Permit, then permanent residence is a realistic multi-year plan for younger Syrian applicants.

Provincial programs

Provincial nominee streams reward in-demand skills and can add decisive points for Syrian candidates who fall short in the federal pool.

Humanitarian & compassionate

For Syrians in Canada without status, H&C applications consider establishment, hardship and the best interests of children. These are complex files that benefit from regulated representation.

Refugee protection

For Syrians already in Canada who fear return, we provide regulated representation for refugee claims and appeals before the IRB.

Applying from Syria: what to prepare

Every country has its own paperwork realities. These are the ones that matter most for applicants from Syria.

Missing or lost documents

Many Syrians cannot obtain originals from home. IRCC accepts explanations and alternative evidence when they are presented properly. We document the gap instead of leaving it to be refused.

Police certificates

You generally need police records from each country where you have lived since turning 18, including Lebanon, Jordan, Türkiye or Gulf states. We map out exactly which certificates your file needs.

Credentials & translations

Syrian degrees can be assessed for Canadian immigration even when universities are slow to respond. Certified Arabic-to-English translation must be consistent across every document.

Applying from a third country

Living in Lebanon, Jordan, Türkiye or the Gulf does not prevent a Canadian application. Your file is submitted online and assessed on your merits, not your current address.

Where newcomers from Syria settle in Canada

Many of our clients from Syria join family and community networks in these cities, and we publish dedicated local guidance for each.

Arabic-speaking consultants for clients from Syria

For Syrian families, immigration paperwork often carries years of separation behind it. Explaining your story in Arabic, clearly and completely, changes the quality of the application. Our Arabic-speaking team works with Syrian clients every week and understands the documents, the gaps and the realities of applying from the region.

Your immigration file is one of the most important decisions you will make. With RA Migration you can discuss every detail in Arabic or English and move forward with confidence. نتحدّث العربية ونساعدك في كل خطوة.

Canadian immigration applications are submitted to IRCC online, so clients in Syria complete the entire process remotely: video consultations, secure document sharing and a licensed consultant representing your file from start to finish.

We schedule consultations around your time zone, review every document before it is submitted, and keep you informed at each stage so you always know where your application stands.

Immigrating from Syria: your questions

Yes. Syrians apply to Canadian programs like any other nationality: family sponsorship, Express Entry, study permits and provincial streams all remain open to Syrian citizens. The right path depends on your family ties, skills, language and where you live now.

If you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, you can sponsor your spouse, partner, dependent children and, when the program is open, parents and grandparents. We regularly prepare Syrian sponsorship files, including cases where civil documents are incomplete.

You apply online from wherever you legally reside. Syrians in Lebanon, Jordan, Türkiye, Egypt or the Gulf submit the same applications as anyone else. What matters is proving your identity, history and qualifications correctly.

IRCC understands that some Syrian documents are impossible to obtain. The key is to explain the gap and provide credible alternative evidence. Unexplained missing documents lead to refusals; properly documented ones usually do not.

Yes. We provide regulated representation for refugee claims, appeals and humanitarian and compassionate applications for Syrians in Canada, alongside the full range of economic and family programs.
